Installation Instructions

 

Installing Neon Trimtm

Install Neon Trimtm on any surface with provided SuperGlue. Before you begin installation, carefully decide the length you'll need and exactly where you want it. SuperGlue is pretty permanent; both surface and Neon Trimtm can be damaged if you attempt to remove it once its installed. Neon Trimtm can be trimmed to fit before installation. Do not install Neon Trimtm in locations where it will be flexed continuously; this will break the internal wires and ruin the product.

 

To connect Neon Trimtm to the inverter (Click here for soldering instructions):

To install with manual switch, connect the red wire from the inverter to the positive side of the battery (+12V DC); connect the black wire through a switch to the chassis ground.

To install so it turns on with your headlights, run the red wire from the inverter to the dome light or headlight (switched power); connect the black wire to a chassis ground.

  1. Strip outer vinyl layer approximately 1/2" from cut end (Fig. 1).
  2. Strip inner vinyl layer nearly 1/2" from cut end (Fig. 1).
  3. Bend outer wires carefully out of the way, as they break easily (Fig. 1).
  4. Scrape away semiconductor approximately 1/4" from end (Fig. 1).
  5. Solder inner wires together (Fig. 2).
  6. Tape soldered inner wires with electrical tape (Fig. 3).
  7. Solder outer wires together (Fig. 2).
  8. Cover entire join with electrical tape (Fig. 4).

Neon Trimtm is recommended for nighttime use only. Do not mount Neon Trimtm on the surface of dashboards which are subject to extreme head or much direct sunlight. Do not install Neon Trimtm near heating vents or in engine compartments. This product is warranted from manufacturing defects only. The warranty is valid 90 days from the date of purchase. This warranty does not apply to damage caused by user installation or normal wear and tear. J. A. LeClaire, Inc. does not warranty against damage to any surface due to removing or applying this product. Any tampering with this product shall void warranty regardless of date of purchase.
