Following is a letter we recently received. We thought it asked some good questions, and we'd like to share them, and the answers, with you all:

Hi, Dave!

While looking at a business opportunity with a company I noticed that they
gave $5.00 out of the $20 we need to start up with them. I went to your website
and read as much as I could. My wife is Russian so we have friends in Russia
and we also have friends here from Ukraine. We know of the hardships the
people have and how difficult it is on the children.

HI,  do your friends live in the states or are they just visiting from Ukraine?  Do you or your wife speak Ukraine or Russian?  David does pretty well with the language here;  I (Carole) don't do so well...

Last year we brought a little 3 yr. old girl here to have plastic surgery on
her scarred face. The doctor and the hospital did the surgery for free, and
we had money donated from many people from an article in our local newspaper
here in Oshkosh,Wisconsin.

We have never been able to have anyone come to the US for an operation.

A doctor came once and wanted to bring two children;  one's parent said no,
and the other child the doctor never followed through on.  This is very
bad business, and reflects very badly on the missionaries.
Maybe we could get a child there (to the US for medical help) with
your know-how and help!

I know you need workers over there. I don't know if I qualify, as I am a
carpenter, machinist, and am still a student at the university, but could you send
me information on what I could do and how I could be of help?

Would you want to donate your time to come and help?
Or, just help like bringing a child to the states? There are lots of possibilities!  Or, maybe gather a team of people together and bring them here to work? We need
physical therapy workers, a dentist, prison workers for our women's prison ministry, workers for street ministry...   there is so much to do, and we are the only ones
in our group!

I feel in my heart a great desire to help those children however I can, besides just giving
money.

There is so much that is needed besides money.  If you came alone

or brought a team, you could bring some clothing for
the street children and give them out in the late hours of the night.
You could help to feed them - we have just gotten a place to cook food in, and don't
have a good program for that yet.   (But we're working on it!)
You might need an interpreter to go with you, but you could tell about
Jesus (which is very simple), but hugs and love are so much needed here, too!

I hope you will have some time to let me know the details. Thank you
and God bless you!

I really feel there is so much to tell, and I have not

told you too much here!   Please keep in contact, and let's see what God wants to
work out with all of us for His kingdom.
In Christ,  Carole
